We are optimistic that the worst of COVID is past and the coming summer will be fantastic. Let’s hope the weather is as good as last year!
We have used the lockdown to upgrade a lot of this charming building, including a big improvement to the bar rooms, re-instating the fireplace (with logburner) in the large lounge, adding some fine antique furniture..

Badgers

Update... Badgercam now working. Watch the badgers live at dusk. Or even better, come for a meal and a drink then watch them up close! You can get quite close to them. But if you see a ginger cat, send it packing! It's definitely not a badger and its not our cat either. It will come and steal the food off your plate in the beer garden if you give it half a chance.

The bluebells are out, the lambs are skipping in the fields and the sun is shining. It is just lovely in the Lakes now, and where better than sitting in our delightful beer garden with a pint listening to the chirping birds?

Beautiful Bluebells

The woodland floor is now carpeted in bluebells, which is such a pretty sight. The lambs are skipping in the fields and the weather is lovely and sunny. Its a joy to be alive! SUNDAY EVENING 24th April. We are CLOSED from 5pm until 12 noon on Monday 25th.

We are closed from 5pm on Tuesday, just for that evening, to give our overworked staff some much needed time off. Open as normal from 12 noon on Wednesday.
