The daffodils are out, the lakes are sparkling in the sunshine, the lambs are frolicking in the fields … what are you waiting for? Come and sit in our lovely beer garden and leave your worries behindRead more »
Badger Cam now live! Watch them here. In the grounds live a colony of badgers, and we feed them every night at dusk. As long as you are quiet, you can get quite close to them. In summer quite a big group can emerge, including the young ones for the first time. But just in case you miss them, there is a stuffed one in the bar…
The best time of year to see them is from April to October, when sometimes 5 or 6 can be seen. Over the winter they keep a low profile, and though 1 or 2 will come out, you will be lucky to see them as they don’t stay around for long.
Our live “Badgercam” can be seen below. But you’re far better wandering along to see us and enjoying a meal in our bar then going to see them for yourselves. Many thanks to Cumbria Wildlife Trust for helping to set this up. Here is their website http://www.cumbriawildlifetrust.org.uk/wildlife/badger-web-cam
