Escape to the Lake District and stay in one of our lovely rooms, most with views of soaring fells or lush woodland.

From opulent superior 4-poster suites to cosy singles, we have the room for you. Families are welcome, as are pets, who are accommodated in rooms in the cottage in the grounds, each with their own outside entrance.

A very delicious Cumberland breakfast is of course included, for all (human) guests.

A standard double room. The small ensuite has a bath with shower over. As in all rooms your booking includes en-suite facilities, toiletries, TV, central heating, hospitality tray. Good home-cooked food is served in the bar each evening, and we sell a fine selection of well-kept real ales as well. And a truly unique feature - we have a colony of badgers in the grounds, and we feed them every evening. Come and watch, it is quite a sight: you can get really close. This room can also be booked as a single.

Single

This cosy single room is in the Cottage in the woods in the hotel grounds. It is on the ground floor and has a small ensuite. Dogs are allowed. A familiar sight swooping over the river and lake opposite is our friend the heron.

Room 8

: Check-In time is from 3pm and check-out time is 10.30am. Early check-in (12.30pm) and late check-out (12pm) is available at the time of booking for a small additional charge.
: All rooms are en-suite. All rooms have TV, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer. Iron available on request.
Family rooms: Additional adults in a room are each £35 extra. Children under 18 are £20. Babies are free though there is a charge of £5 for a cot. Please bring your own baby bedding.
: We have our own car park for all guests. One car per room.
: Your dog can stay in the Bluebell, Otter, Woodland, Daffodil & Heron rooms. Cost £15 per night per dog, maximum 2 well behaved dogs. Dogs are allowed in most of the bar and public spaces. You can add your dogs onto the booking form when you reserve the room.
: Champagne, Prosecco, early check in, late check out, chocolate & flowers (48 hours notice required) are all available to book when you reserve a room online.
: Christmas, New Year and Bank Holidays: Please enquire.
Groups: Sorry we do not accept group bookings.
: Sorry, we do not do weddings and we do not accept wedding group bookings.
: Prices are per room for B&B. A deposit to the value of one night is required at time of booking, book online or call us on 015394 34500.
: All deposits will be fully refunded for cancellations made 7 or more days in advance of the arrival date. The deposit is non-refundable within 7 days of the arrival date, but we do try our hardest to re-let the room and will refund you what we re-sell the room for if this is the case. If a booking is cancelled less than 3 days before arrival then a charge equal to the full booking amount will be made. In the event of non-arrival or booking length reduction (after arrival date) the full cost of the booking is charged.
